Thousands Join in Singing the National Song Together
Kaithal, November 7 — A grand and inspiring district-level celebration was organized at Government Senior Secondary School, Committee Chowk, to mark 150 years of the composition of the national song, Vande Mataram.
Thousands of students, teachers, and residents gathered to sing Vande Mataram in unison and listened to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s live address broadcast from Delhi.
The event featured cultural and patriotic performances presented by enthusiastic students from various schools. Former MLA Leela Ram attended as the chief guest, while BJP district president Jyoti Saini was the guest of honor. The event was presided over by Deputy Commissioner Priti, and began with lighting the ceremonial lamp before the idols of Bharat Mata and Maa Saraswati.

‘Vande Mataram is the Eternal Mantra of Freedom,’ Says Leela Ram
In his address, former MLA Leela Ram said that Vande Mataram is not merely a song, but an immortal mantra of India’s freedom struggle that united millions and inspired sacrifice.
He said, “Vande Mataram gave Indians the courage to break the chains of slavery. Even today, it symbolizes our national consciousness and unity.”
He added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, India is reaching new milestones of progress. He highlighted welfare schemes like PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, Ujjwala Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, PM Awas Yojana, PM Surya Ghar Yojana, and PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, which have empowered millions.
Leela Ram urged the youth to understand the spirit and history of Vande Mataram and actively contribute to the nation’s progress.

‘Vande Mataram Symbolizes Unity and National Pride,’ Says Jyoti Saini
BJP district president Jyoti Saini congratulated citizens on the completion of 150 years of Vande Mataram, calling it a symbol of India’s unity and strength.
She said, “This song once shook the foundations of the British Empire. It contains the essence of our rivers’ melodies, our fields’ greenery, and the pride of our land.”
She recalled how freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Rajguru, and Chandrashekhar Azad embraced martyrdom while singing Vande Mataram. During the Quit India Movement of 1942, led by Mahatma Gandhi, it became the mantra of patriotism and independence.
After independence, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, India’s first President, declared Vande Mataram as the National Song in 1950. Saini described it as “the nectar of unity that binds the entire nation.”

‘Love for the Motherland Fuels Progress,’ Says Ashok Gurjar
Senior BJP leader Ashok Gurjar remarked that a nation’s progress depends on how deeply its people love their motherland.
He said, “Even today, Vande Mataram is as relevant as it was during the freedom movement. We must keep its flame alive to strengthen the spirit of unity and integrity.”
He extended his best wishes to everyone on the 150th anniversary of the National Song.
