Kaithal Police Arrest 51 in Statewide ‘Operation Aakraman’ Drive

Kaithal, May 19 โ€“ In a powerful show of force against crime, the Kaithal police apprehended 51 accused individuals during a large-scale crackdown under the Haryana-wide Operation Aakraman, initiated as per the directives of the Director General of Police.

The district-wide operation, led by SP Aastha Modi, saw the formation of 72 teams comprising 335 police officers and personnel. Raids were conducted across various locations resulting in the registration of 19 cases under diverse crime categories.


Major Arrests and Recoveries

Illegal Liquor and Drug Seizures:
In 16 separate cases under the Excise Act, 16 individuals were arrested. Authorities recovered:

  • 267.75 bottles of country-made liquor
  • 23 bottles of hand-distilled alcohol
  • 21 bottles of English liquor
  • 20 beer bottles
  • 395 liters of lahan (illicit brew material)

In a separate case related to drug smuggling, a suspect named Ranjit from Mandwal was held for attempting to procure 20 kg of chura post (poppy husk) from a 2023 case.


Illegal Betting and Weapons:

  • 6 accused were caught in 5 gambling cases with โ‚น9,720 seized as betting money.
  • 3 individuals were arrested for possessing illegal firearms, and 3 pistols were confiscated.
  • Police also captured 3 fugitives and 4 accused with non-bailable warrants.

Traffic Rule Violations:
The crackdown extended to traffic violators with 180 challans issued. Drivers were also educated about road safety and compliance.


SP Modi’s Strong Message

SP Aastha Modi reinforced that the police mottoโ€”Seva, Suraksha, Sahyog (Service, Safety, Cooperation)โ€”is being actively implemented to ensure public safety and tackle crime head-on. She urged citizens to report criminal activities and miscreants without hesitation, promising stern action and zero tolerance against crime in the district.


9 Arrested in 6 Theft Cases

Separately, the police arrested 9 individuals linked to 6 different theft incidents:

  • Grain Theft: Two men were caught for stealing 50 kg of wheat from a home in Gagarpur.
  • Shop Burglary: Four were arrested in connection with the theft of cylinders and food items from a sweet shop in Bhusla village.
  • Vehicle Theft: A bike thief from Samana was caught, while a woman involved in stealing batteries and grain sacks was arrested in another case.
  • Electric Wire Theft: Two suspects were held for stealing around 90 feet of electrical wire from a farm shed in Jadhola village.

Stolen items including wheat sacks and electric equipment were recovered, and further investigation is underway.
