AAP District President Amandeep Singh Sandhu Leads Relief Efforts Amid Flood Crisis
Standing firmly with the people of his region during the flood situation, AAP District President Amandeep Singh Sandhu, under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Cabinet Minister Lal Chand Kataruchakk, has been tirelessly providing every possible form of assistance to the affected families.
Without caring about day or night, Sandhu, along with his team, has been selflessly engaged in building embankments on the Ravi River to protect villages from flood damage.
Standing with the People During Crisis
Sandhu has been visiting flood-affected areas to ensure families receive timely help. His leadership has boosted the morale of both villagers and volunteers.
Embankment Strengthening at Kathnaur Village
Early this morning, around 6 AM, Sandhu received information that the embankment at Kathnaur village was on the verge of breaking. Immediately, he alerted the entire AAP organization, including the Youth Wing, Drug-Free Front Wing, Farmer Wing, and other volunteers. Together, they strengthened the embankment by placing bags filled with soil, sand, and cement, thereby preventing a major disaster.
United Efforts of AAP Volunteers
The coordinated work of AAP workers ensured that the situation was brought under control quickly. Their determination, even in heavy rain, highlighted the party’s commitment to public service.
Preventing Flood Impact on 80+ Villages
Sandhu emphasized that reinforcing the embankment was crucial—otherwise, nearly 80–85 villages would have been severely impacted by the floodwaters. This action saved thousands of lives and farmlands from devastation.
Essential Relief Supplies for Families and Livestock
Along with embankment repair, Sandhu and his team have been distributing tarpaulins (tents), ration supplies, medicines, and fodder for livestock. These efforts have provided immediate relief to families and farmers struggling with the aftermath of the flood.
Punjab’s Strength Lies in Unity
Speaking on the occasion, Sandhu said:
“The entire government, all ministers, and AAP workers are standing with flood-affected families to provide relief, assistance, and support. This unity is Punjab’s biggest strength in this hour of crisis. Let us come together to help Punjab and its people who are suffering from the floods.”
Support from Across Punjab for Pathankot
He further added that relief material is being sent from across Punjab, with special teams from Patiala and Ludhiana districts working shoulder-to-shoulder with the Pathankot unit. Sandhu assured the emotional and distressed families that he personally stands with them in this difficult time.
