Police Action Leads to Arrest in Mustard Theft Case
Guhla-Cheeka – The Baghal Police have arrested an accused involved in the theft of a mustard sack from a farmer’s house. According to the police spokesperson, complainant Baldev Singh, a resident of Baghal, reported that he is engaged in farming and had stored several mustard sacks at his home.
Former Worker Seen Stealing in CCTV Footage
Baldev Singh informed that a man named Raju, a resident of Paprala village, used to work on his combine harvester but was dismissed from the job last year. Despite being removed, Raju continued to visit his house occasionally. After suspecting missing mustard sacks, Baldev installed CCTV cameras at his home. The footage from July 27, around 1 PM, clearly showed Raju taking away a sack of mustard on a motorcycle.
Accused Arrested with Stolen Goods and Motorcycle
Following the complaint, a case was registered at Cheeka Police Station, and under the supervision of ASI Raghuveer and ASI Lakhwinder Singh, the police team arrested Ramesh alias Raju, a resident of Gagarpur village. The police recovered the motorcycle used in the crime and ₹1500 in cash from the accused.
Accused Sent to Judicial Custody
The accused was presented in court on Thursday, where he was sent to judicial custody as per the court’s orders. The police said further investigation is underway to check if the accused was involved in other similar theft cases.
