Battery Thief Caught in Ongoing Police Crackdown

Kaithal, April 18 – A major arrest was made in a battery theft case. The Anti-Vehicle Theft Staff acted under the direction of SP Rajesh Kalia.

This step is part of an ongoing drive to catch rising theft offenders across the region.


Complaint Revealed Large-Scale Shop Theft

Shop owner Gurmeet, resident of Sirta Road, reported a theft at his shop “Balaji Electronic Works” on New Karnal Road.

On the night of March 30, 11 batteries were stolen by an unknown person. A case was soon filed at Civil Lines Police Station.


Accused Linked to Multiple District Crimes

The Anti-Theft team, led by SI Pradeep Kumar, along with SI Shubhkaran, SI Jaibhagwan, and others, investigated the matter.

They arrested Rajender, a resident of Sugar Mill Colony, near Jind Bypass in Kaithal.

During questioning, he confessed to 11 thefts across Kaithal, Kurukshetra, Karnal, and Jind.


Recovered Car and Stolen Batteries

Rajender admitted he targeted shops and stole vehicle-use batteries. Police recovered:

  • 10 stolen batteries
  • A Maruti Alto car used in the crimes

Sent to Jail After Court Hearing

Following court orders, the accused was sent to judicial custody.

This arrest brings hope to shop owners and signals stricter actions against repeat offenders.
