The Department of Women and Child Development organized well worship (Kuan Pujan) activities under the “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” campaign in the villages of Kharkada, Kharaudi, and Theh Butana. Women from these villages participated enthusiastically in the event.
Anganwadi workers gathered women at the center to spread awareness about the issues of female foeticide and gender discrimination. They encouraged villagers to report any such incidents anonymously through the suggestion box at the Anganwadi center.
During the event, village supervisor Deepti conducted a meeting with the women of Bhuna village, urging them to treat boys and girls equally and provide equal opportunities for their daughters to progress. She emphasized the importance of educating girls and discouraging child marriages before the age of 18.
The message was conveyed to mothers, and a well worship ceremony was performed to celebrate the birth of a girl child. Women representatives (Panch) and ASHA workers were present during the event. The program was successfully conducted at their respective Anganwadi centers by Nirmal Kaur from Bhuna village, Mukesh from Kharaudi village, and Karamjeet Kaur from Theh Butana village.
