Campaigns Intensify Against Drug Abuse in Guhla-Cheeka

Guhla-Cheeka, 27 June – Stressing the growing threat of substance abuse among youth, Sub Divisional Magistrate Captain Pramesh Singh has called on families to remain vigilant and keep a close watch on their children’s activities. He stated that addiction does not just harm the individual but also disturbs mental balance, family life, and social relationships.

The district administration has launched awareness drives in schools, colleges, and village panchayats to educate people about the dangers of drug misuse. These campaigns aim to protect the young generation and encourage them to focus on sports and positive pursuits rather than falling into addiction.

Captain Singh informed that there is only one government-recognized de-addiction center operating at Guhla Sub-Division Hospital. In addition, eight non-government de-addiction centers are legally functioning in the area. Any center running beyond these is considered illegal, and the administration will take action against such establishments to ensure safe and effective treatment for patients.

Residents are encouraged to report any unauthorized de-addiction centers to the authorities. The eight recognized non-government facilities include:

  • Agarwal Psychiatric and De-Addiction Center near Corporation Bank, Cheeka
  • Ardaas Hospital in Ajeemgarh village
  • Shri Guru Nanak Chetna Foundation Trust Counseling and Rehabilitation Center, Ward 15, Guhla
  • Bright Future Jan Kalyan Trust Counseling and Rehabilitation Center, Ward 12, Cheeka
  • Samarth De-Addiction Center, Ajeemgarh
  • Nirvaan Psychiatric Hospital, Cheeka
  • Mano Aadhar De-Addiction Center, Ajeemgarh
  • Deepak De-Addiction Center, Cheeka

Captain Singh appealed to the public to understand that drug addiction is a serious social evil. With strong determination and the right guidance, it can be overcome. Those who wish to break free from substance dependence are advised to consult doctors at any of these registered centers for proper treatment and support.

He emphasized that collective efforts from families, educators, and local institutions are vital to protecting youth and building a healthy, drug-free society.
