DAV College Cheeka Hosts Grand Tiranga Yatra on Independence Day

Celebration of Freedom and Unity

On the occasion of Independence Day, DAV College, Cheeka, witnessed a grand Tiranga Yatra jointly organized by the NCC and NSS units. The rally began at the college premises, where Principal Dr. Jasbir Singh hoisted the national flag and extended heartfelt wishes to students and faculty.

Principal’s Inspiring Address

In his address, Dr. Singh paid tribute to the brave martyrs whose sacrifices have ensured India’s freedom. He reminded everyone that independence is not merely a right but also a responsibility that every citizen must uphold.

He urged students to strive for academic excellence while embracing discipline, moral values, and dedication to the nation. Dr. Singh also encouraged the youth to contribute towards environmental protection, social harmony, and self-reliance, alongside navigating the challenges of the digital age.

“The Tiranga is not just a flag; it is a symbol of our pride, unity, and determination. We must always be ready to protect its honor,” he stated.

Enthusiastic Participation

Led by NCC Officer Dr. Jaswinder Singh, the rally saw hundreds of students marching through the city’s main market and various streets, waving the national flag and chanting patriotic slogans. The air was filled with enthusiasm, and locals welcomed the procession along the way.

Fostering Patriotism and Discipline

The Tiranga Yatra concluded back at the college, leaving an inspiring message for the youth to uphold patriotism, discipline, and a spirit of service. Faculty members, NCC cadets, and students from various departments actively participated, making the event a memorable celebration of unity and national pride.
