Drug Peddler Nabbed with 1.26 Kg Ganja in Guhla Area

Kaithal, July 19 — Under the ongoing anti-drug initiative led by SP Aastha Modi, the district police continue to take strict action against drug traffickers while also raising public awareness about the dangers of substance abuse. As part of this mission, the Anti-Narcotics Cell apprehended a drug peddler from the Guhla area and seized 1.26 kilograms of ganja flower and leaves.

Police spokesperson stated that the operation was led by Anti-Narcotics Cell in-charge SI Rajbir Singh and SI Joginder Singh. The team was on routine patrol near village Chakku Ladana when they received a tip-off. The informer revealed that Ranjit Singh, a resident of Kangthali, had been involved in selling ganja for a long time. He was reportedly traveling from village Dhamtan Sahib carrying a consignment of ganja on an unnumbered motorcycle.

Taking immediate action on this credible information, the police set up a checkpoint on Sair Road near Chakku Ladana. After a short wait, a suspect matching the description approached on a numberless motorcycle. The man was identified as Ranjit Singh alias Channi from Kangthali.

Following standard procedure, the police conducted a search in the presence of Guhla DSP Kuldeep Beniwal. During the search, the police recovered 1.26 kilograms of ganja flower and leaves from a polythene bag in Ranjit Singh’s possession.

A case was promptly registered against the accused at the Guhla police station. SI Balraj Singh arrested the suspect on the spot. He will be produced before the court on Saturday.

The arrest marks another success for the district police’s firm stance against narcotics under the leadership of SP Aastha Modi. The campaign aims to curb drug trafficking and prevent youth from falling into substance abuse. The public has been urged to report any drug-related activities through the helpline to support the police in building a drug-free society.
