Essay Writing Competition Organized by English Department
Cheeka – The English Department of DAV College, Cheeka, organized an essay writing competition that witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of B.A. first, second, and third year.
The event was conducted by Prof. Neha Bansal, who explained that the primary objective of the competition was to encourage students to express their ideas freely and refine their writing skills.
Thought-Provoking Topics for Students
Students were given several thought-provoking topics, including:
- The role of English in education, career, and personal development
- The role of Artificial Intelligence in modern education
- Education and women empowerment
- The role of youth in nation building
- Social media: boon or curse
- Importance of discipline in student life
These themes aimed to broaden students’ perspectives and strengthen their analytical and creative abilities.

On the occasion, Principal Dr. Jasbir Singh, along with Prof. Neeraj, Prof. Rajinder, Prof. Neha Bansal, Prof. Sunita, and Prof. Kunal Verma, encouraged the participants. They praised the students’ creativity, expression, and awareness of current issues.
