Citizens Urged to Obey Traffic Regulations

SDM Captain Parmesh Singh emphasized that every citizen must strictly follow traffic rules to protect not only their own lives but also the lives of others. Ignoring traffic regulations can lead to severe accidents and loss of property. He appealed to two-wheeler riders to always wear helmets and advised parents not to allow their underage children to ride vehicles.

Road Safety is a Collective Responsibility

Highlighting the importance of shared responsibility, the SDM said that road safety is not just the duty of the police but also of every individual. “Even a small act of negligence can result in major accidents,” he said. He further mentioned that awareness campaigns are regularly organized in schools and colleges to educate the youth about safe driving practices.

Key Safety Guidelines for Citizens

The SDM shared essential instructions for all road users:

  • Always follow traffic signals.
  • Avoid overspeeding.
  • Use zebra crossings correctly.
  • Never drive under the influence of alcohol.
  • Do not use mobile phones while driving.
  • Wear helmets and seat belts.
  • Follow road signboards and speed limits strictly.

Enforcement and Monitoring

He added that the traffic police are not only spreading awareness but also taking strict action against violators. Regular meetings of the Road Safety Committee are held, where instructions are issued to relevant departments to ensure compliance.

Appeal to Schools and Institutions

The SDM also instructed all school operators to strictly follow the standards set under the Safe School Vehicle Policy to ensure the safety of school children during travel.
