Celebration of Hindi Week
DAV College, Cheeka, celebrated Hindi Week under the aegis of the Hindi Council with great enthusiasm and zeal. Students actively participated in various competitions showcasing their creativity and knowledge.
Enthusiastic Participation in Competitions
According to the program convener, Prof. Jyoti, several activities were organized, including essay writing, slogan writing, poetry recitation, and speech competitions. Students highlighted the importance of Hindi, its cultural richness, and the need for its promotion in today’s times.
Principal’s Address
College Principal Dr. Jasbir Singh, while addressing the students, emphasized that Hindi is not just a medium of communication but also a symbol of culture, tradition, and national identity. He motivated students to think and express themselves in Hindi to build confidence. He also stressed on promoting the use of Hindi in science, technology, and modern knowledge fields so that the language progresses with modernity.

Competition Results
In the speech competition, Payal (B.A. 3rd Year) secured first place, Tanveer (B.A. 2nd Year) stood second, and Anjali (B.A. 2nd Year) secured third, while Srishti (B.A. 3rd Year) received a consolation prize. In the poetry competition, Priya (B.A. 2nd Year) stood first, Vanshika (B.A. 1st Year) second, and Manjeet (B.A. 3rd Year) third, while Rekha (B.A. 1st Year) received a consolation award.
Conclusion
Prof. Neeraj Singh, Prof. Bunty, and other faculty members were also present. The program strengthened the feeling of pride and respect for the Hindi language among the students.
