IIM Rohtak Students Urged to Contribute to Nation’s Growth with Startup Ideas in Education, Health, and MSMEs – DC Preeti
Kaithal, September 26 – Deputy Commissioner Preeti encouraged students of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM Rohtak) to contribute to the country’s development by bringing forward innovative startup ideas in key sectors such as education, health, and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
She emphasized that by utilizing government schemes like Startup India, students can transform their ideas into successful ventures, improve the living standards of common people, and ultimately serve the nation. Highlighting Kaithal’s potential, DC Preeti pointed out that MSMEs working in stubble management could play a vital role in producing alternative fuels for large industries, offering a sustainable solution to traditional fuel sources.
Interaction with IIM Rohtak Students
The DC was interacting with a group of 14 MBA students from IIM Rohtak at the mini-secretariat auditorium. The students had been on a five-day study tour of Kaithal, observing local MSMEs, rural lifestyles, traffic systems, and the district’s socio-economic environment.
The students shared their learnings with the DC, stating that first-hand interactions with people provided them with deeper insights beyond the data available online. DC Preeti encouraged them to explore the challenges faced by small industries, including banking and insurance issues, and understand how government schemes are helping them strengthen the economy.
She further added that Kaithal and other villages in Haryana are rapidly developing due to better road connectivity and easy access to major cities like Delhi, Chandigarh, and Gurugram.

Students Impressed with Haryana’s Development
During their interactions, the IIM Rohtak students expressed appreciation for Haryana’s rural progress compared to other states. They noted improved cleanliness, availability of smart classrooms in schools, and quality healthcare facilities.
The students also highlighted how MSMEs were strengthening the economy and praised the cooperative and welcoming nature of the local people.

She was particularly impressed with the state of women’s empowerment in Haryana, where women actively engaged in discussions. Others echoed similar experiences, noting the presence of libraries in villages and the progressive environment.
