Illegal Liquor Operation Busted in Kaithal: Accused Flees Scene

In a bold move to curb illegal liquor production, Kaithal’s Titaram police have uncovered an active liquor distillation setup in a village field. The illegal operation was discovered during a raid conducted by ASI Rohtash and his team following a tip-off. Though the accused fled upon seeing the police, crucial evidence was recovered from the site.

This raid is part of a growing effort by law enforcement to clamp down on unlicensed liquor networks in rural areas.

Tip-off Leads Police to Hidden Still

Field in Sismaur Used for Illegal Brewing

The police received confidential information around midday about a suspicious setup in the village of Sismaur. The operation was reportedly being run by a man named Dalbir, also known as Madhu, from the same village.

Acting on the information, the police raided a hut located in Dalbirโ€™s agricultural field. As soon as they arrived, a man at the site fled the scene, evading immediate arrest.

Evidence Found: Alcohol and Brewing Tools Seized

What the Police Discovered

Despite the escape of the accused, the police made significant recoveries:

  • 5.5 bottles of illegally brewed liquor
  • 7 liters of “lahan” (a raw, fermented substance used to distill liquor)
  • Equipment used in the brewing process

The field setup was a full-fledged mobile still, with signs of ongoing distillation. This indicates that the accused was actively involved in brewing liquor, not just storing it.

FIR Registered, Investigation Ongoing

Police Pursue Fugitive, More Arrests Possible

An FIR has been registered against the accused at the Titaram Police Station. The police are currently working on identifying and locating the individual who fled. Based on early evidence, more people may be involved in this operation.

Authorities have promised strict legal action and are now extending their search to related locations. The investigation is active, and the police have assured the public of continued vigilance.

Growing Concern: Rise of Illegal Alcohol in Rural Areas

Why This Matters to the Public

Illegal liquor operations are not just unlawful; they pose serious health risks. Products like “lahan” often contain harmful chemicals that can cause illness or death. The unchecked brewing and distribution of such liquor can have dangerous consequences for local communities.

Moreover, such setups often escape regulation and taxation, which also impacts the state economically. It undermines legal businesses and promotes unsafe drinking culture.

Community Support and Police Action

Citizens Encouraged to Report Suspicious Activities

Police officials have urged residents to cooperate and report similar setups in their areas. Community participation is key in fighting such crimes. ASI Rohtash praised the local informant whose tip helped uncover this illegal unit.

He further assured that identities of informants will remain confidential, and legal protection will be provided if needed.

Conclusion: Stronger Measures Against Illegal Liquor

This latest raid sends a strong message: illegal alcohol production will not be tolerated. The Kaithal police are committed to maintaining law and order, especially in the face of such underground activities.

As the investigation continues, residents of the region can take comfort in knowing that steps are being taken to protect their health and security.
