Health Department Raids Illegal Nursing Home in Cheeka

Cheeka, August 7 – In a major crackdown, a joint team of the Health Department and Drug Inspector raided an illegally operating private nursing home in Cheeka on Thursday. The surprise raid revealed shocking details, including a huge cache of banned medicines and absence of any legal authorization to run the facility.

Over 1100 Narcotic Pills and 100 Injections Seized

During the raid, the team recovered approximately 1100 narcotic tablets and 100 banned injections from the premises. These are highly regulated substances under the NDPS Act and cannot be stored or dispensed without proper licenses and prescriptions.

Drugs Hidden in Beds and Toilets

What startled the authorities was the way these drugs were concealed. The accused doctor had hidden the narcotics beneath hospital beds, inside washrooms, and other obscure locations—indicating deliberate intent to evade detection.

No Valid License or Official Documents Found

On further inspection, the doctor failed to produce any valid license to operate the hospital, nor any registration or legal documentation required under medical regulations. Running a healthcare facility without such approvals is a serious offense under Indian law.

NDPS Act Case Filed Against Doctor

Based on the evidence, the Health Department has filed a formal complaint with the Cheeka police station. A case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act is now being registered against the accused doctor.

Accused Already Booked in Punjab Under NDPS Act

In a major revelation, sources confirmed that the accused doctor has a prior NDPS case registered by Punjab Police, raising serious concerns about how he was allowed to continue medical practice in Haryana despite his criminal background.

Police Presence Ensured During the Raid

Due to the sensitive nature of the operation, a large police force was deployed on-site to manage any resistance or disturbance. Fortunately, the operation was conducted peacefully, and all evidence has been seized for further legal proceedings.

Crackdown Sends Strong Warning to Illegal Clinics

This incident has exposed the administrative negligence that allows such illegal medical setups to operate for long periods. The Health Department’s firm action is being seen as a stern warning to other unauthorized clinics and nursing homes operating in the region.

Police Assures Swift Legal Action

Cheeka SHO confirmed the raid and stated:

“A complaint has been received from the Health Department regarding the illegal activities at Rohatak Nursing Home in Cheeka. Action under the law will be taken immediately as per evidence and legal provisions.”
