Scanner Installer Fraudster Arrested by CIA-1 Police in Scanner Fraud Case

Kaithal Cyber Fraud: Acting on the directions of SP Upasana, the district police have successfully arrested a fraudster who was duping people by pretending to install UPI scanners. The CIA-1 team apprehended the accused for cheating shopkeepers out of their mobile phones and money across several states.

Complaint Filed by Victim from Bhagal Village

Police spokesperson stated that the investigation began after a complaint by Devender, a resident of Bhagal village, was lodged at Cheeka Police Station.
According to the complaint, on October 19, an unidentified man approached the shopkeeper, claiming to be a “UPI scanner technician” and offered to help him set up a scanner for payments.

CIA-1 Police Team Cracks the Case

Following SP Upasana’s instructions, the case was assigned to CIA-1 Incharge SI Jaswant Singh and his team led by ASI Kamaljeet Singh.
Using technical surveillance and evidence, the team tracked down and arrested Gulshan Kumar, a resident of Doraha, District Ludhiana (Punjab).

During interrogation, Gulshan confessed to committing similar frauds in Haryana, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh, using the same UPI scanner trick to cheat multiple shopkeepers.
