Kaithal, September 30:
The District Grievance Redressal Committee meeting was held on Tuesday in the mini-secretariat auditorium under the chairmanship of DC Priti. During the hearing of different cases, she directed the police department to immediately register FIRs in three separate complaints — related to fraud in sending a girl abroad, a physical assault, and deduction of a woman’s money by a finance company.

She also instructed action against an Investigating Officer (IO) for negligence in an assault case investigation. Out of 15 complaints presented in the meeting, 10 were resolved on the spot.

In the first case, Manjeet Singh, a resident of Siwan Gate, alleged that Ravi and others running a Chandigarh-based firm defrauded him of ₹9–10 lakh on the pretext of sending his daughter abroad. Despite earlier directions, police failed to register an FIR. DC Priti ordered DSP to immediately file the case.

In the second case, Satish Kumar of Janakpuri Colony complained that when he objected to four youths consuming alcohol in his lane, they assaulted him. Despite CCTV evidence, police did not take action. DC Priti directed the DSP to file an FIR against the accused and ordered departmental action against the negligent IO.

Another complaint involved Kusum from Kasan village, who alleged that ₹5,600 from her MGNREGA wages was wrongly deducted by a finance company. DC Priti instructed police to file an FIR against the company and ensure full reimbursement.

Other matters discussed included:

  • Drainage and soil filling at Sant Guru Ravidas Sabha School premises (resolved by the municipal body).
  • Sewerage issues raised by Shyam Lal of Kaithal (resolved).
  • Disabled scholarship complaint by Hardeep Singh of Sadarhedi (found ineligible, complaint closed).
  • Fraud case reported by Dinesh of Barta village (five accused arrested, case in court).
  • Power connection rejection case by Balvinder Singh of Hemumajra (ordered inquiry against JE, matter pending).
  • Pension grievances from Subhash Nagar and Duserpur residents (resolved).
  • Banking issues raised by Tanisha of Ambedkar Nagar (account opening ordered under rules).
  • Pending LTC/leave encashment of Rajpal Singh, retired from Forest Dept. (partly settled, rest pending).
  • Land encroachment at Harigarh Kingan bus stand (tehsildar to survey with drone).
  • Pollution complaint about a pesticide factory in Daban Kheri (resolved, complainant satisfied).

Present in the meeting were ZP CEO Suresh Ravish, District Municipal Commissioner Kapil Kumar, Sugar Mill MD Krishan Kumar, SDM Kaithal Ajay Singh, SDM Guhla Captain Parmesh Singh, CTM Gurvindra, DSP Lalit, committee members, and other officials.
