Kaithal Police Intensifies Crackdown on Criminal Activities
Kaithal, May 10:
In a sweeping crackdown against crime and drug trafficking, Kaithal Police has made several high-profile arrests under the leadership of SP Aastha Modi. From habitual drug offenders to armed extortionists and murder accomplices, multiple operations have been carried out to ensure law and order in the district.
Drug Trafficker Jailed Under PIT NDPS Act
Acting on consistent involvement in drug smuggling, a resident of Kalayat, Rajesh Kumar, was detained under the PIT NDPS Act. This preventive law allows for imprisonment without immediate seizure of contraband. SP Aastha Modi said that drug dealers who repeatedly engage in such crimes will not be spared. She emphasized, “Drug traffickers belong behind bars. They must return to society’s mainstream or face strict action.”
Murder Case Accomplice Arrested
Special Detective Unit (SDU) arrested Ankit, who had helped shelter suspects involved in the murder of a youth named Kulbir near the Kaithal railway gate. The attackers, armed with knives and metal punches, assaulted Kulbir, who later died from injuries. With this arrest, several accused, including those previously held, have been sent to judicial custody.

Illegal Arms Supply Chain Busted
In a separate operation, SDU apprehended Raju from Hisar and later Sushil from Fatehabad for supplying two illegal country-made pistols and one live cartridge. The arms were recovered during a checkpoint near Mohana 152D bridge. The investigation revealed Sushil as the main supplier. Both suspects are under questioning.
Accused Arrested in Extortion Firing Case
Sagar, accused of assisting those who fired shots at a sweet shop in Pundri for extortion, was arrested. The case had earlier led to the death of prime accused Anoop alias Ashish in a police encounter. Five other suspects have already been jailed. Sagar has now been remanded to judicial custody for aiding in the crime.
Copper Wire Theft Case Solved
Titaram Police arrested Bunty of Pyoda village for stealing copper wires from 11 farms, including one owned by Praveen. The police recovered 19.2 kilograms of stolen wire from the accused. Further action is ongoing.

Two Held in Attempt to Murder Case
In another major action, Siwan Police arrested Chinna Ram and a 17-year-old minor for a murderous assault in Pabsar village. The victim, Guni Ram, was critically injured while harvesting crops. A scooty and iron pipe used in the attack were seized. The minor was released as per court orders, while Chinna Ram was sent to judicial custody.
These swift and targeted actions reflect Kaithal Police’s commitment to ridding the district of drugs, violence, and organized crime. SP Aastha Modi reiterated that no offender will be spared and urged wrongdoers to reform and rejoin the mainstream.
