Operation Sindoor: Kaithal Policeโ€™s Public Advisory for Safety

In response to the Indian Armyโ€™s ongoing Operation Sindoor against terrorism, Kaithal Police has issued a vital advisory for citizens. Superintendent of Police Aastha Modi appealed to the public to remain calm, alert, and follow key safety measures during potential emergency situations.

The advisory, shaped by the current national security climate, provides practical steps for safety, mental strength, and community responsibility.

Citizens Urged to Stay Alert, Not Anxious

SP Aastha Modi emphasized that while the situation may seem tense, the public must not panic. She reminded everyone that their role is crucial. While not on the battlefield, citizens are the strength behind the nationโ€™s courage.

What to Do During Emergencies

1. Prioritize Life First

The first instruction is clear: protect your life.

  • Identify the safest room in your homeโ€”preferably one without windows.
  • If you’re outside, find the nearest solid structure or lie flat in a low area.
  • Do not run outside to record videos or take photos during suspicious events or air alerts.

Such actions may put your life at risk and create panic.

2. Keep an Emergency Kit Ready

Every home should have a small bag packed and ready. This bag should include:

  • Personal ID cards
  • Essential medicines
  • Bottled water
  • Dry food (biscuits, snacks)
  • A mobile charger and flashlight

Place the kit in an easily accessible area. In emergencies, quick action saves lives.

3. Avoid Rumors, Trust Official Sources

One of the biggest threats during crises is misinformation.

  • Rely only on government apps like NDMA, and news from AIR or DD News.
  • Donโ€™t trust viral social media posts without verifying them.
  • Cross-check news using platforms like PIB Fact Check and Alt News.

SP Modi stressed that false news spreads fear. Confirm before you believe or share.

4. Stay Mentally Balanced

Keeping the mind steady helps in decision-making. SP Modi recommended simple practices:

  • Limit news exposure to twice a day. Constant updates can heighten fear.
  • Try the 4-4-4-4 breathing technique:
โ†’ Breathe in for 4 seconds
    โ†’ Hold for 4 seconds
โ†’ Breathe out for 4 seconds
    โ†’ Pause for 4 seconds
    โ†’ Repeat
  • Do prayer, meditation, or calming activities regularly.
  • Help children feel secure. Keep their routine normal with play, stories, and study. Avoid sharing alarming details with them.

5. Stay Connected with Your Community

In times of uncertainty, unity gives strength.

  • Keep in touch with your neighbors and local community.
  • Assist senior citizens or those living alone.
  • If you see anything suspiciousโ€”do not post it online. Instead, inform the police.

SP Modi advised citizens to avoid creating panic through social media. Use emergency helplines, not hashtags.

6. Stay Calm, Stay Prepared

The advisory ends with a powerful reminder:

โ€œCourage doesnโ€™t shout; it prepares.โ€

SP Modi asked everyone to focus on what brings them joy dailyโ€”be it music, reading, cooking, or spending time with family.

Preparation reduces panic. It gives confidence in uncertain times.

Public Role Is Crucial During Operation Sindoor

Though the operation is military-led, public support is essential. Fear only fuels chaos. Staying informed, aware, and grounded makes a nation stronger.

SP Modi reiterated:

โ€œYou may not be soldiers, but you are the spirit of this nation.โ€

Her words aimed to boost public confidence and remind people of their silent yet significant role.

Avoid Suspicious Objects, Inform Authorities

Another crucial instruction was to never touch abandoned or suspicious items.

If you find such an object:

  • Do not approach or examine it.
  • Immediately call the police emergency number 112.

Swift and accurate information can save lives.

The Power of Positivity in Difficult Times

SP Modi also encouraged citizens to stay positive. This does not mean ignoring reality but facing it with faith and focus.

Keep yourself occupied with productive activities, avoid panic, and support those around you. Positivity spreads faster than fear when shared with compassion.

Final Words from the SP

โ€œBe watchful, not worried. Be united, not divided. Be aware, not anxious.โ€

With these words, SP Aastha Modi closed her message to the public. The advisory is a blueprint not just for survival, but for responsible citizenship.

In the face of threats, Kaithal stands strongโ€”united, aware, and calm. Citizens, guided by clear steps, have the power to support national efforts from their homes.
