Two Held for ₹5.41 Lakh Fraud in Name of Sending Youth to America

Kaithal, September 1, 2025
The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Kaithal Police has arrested two men accused of duping a villager of over ₹5.41 lakh by promising to send his son to the United States. The action was taken under the directions of SP Aastha Modi.

The Case

According to police spokesperson, the complaint was filed by Mahabir, a resident of village Karoda. He stated that his son Monu, already living in the UK, wanted to move to the USA. Krishan Kumar, resident of Jaurasi Kalan (Kurukshetra), lured the family by demanding ₹24.5 lakh for arranging the immigration process.

Falling for the promise, Mahabir deposited ₹5.41 lakh in installments into the bank account of Vikramjeet, a resident of Amritsar and associate of Krishan. However, even after receiving the money, the accused neither sent Monu to the US nor returned the amount.

Arrests and Recoveries

Following investigations led by Inspector Om Prakash and ASI Rampal, the police team arrested Vikramjeet of Amritsar and Krishan Kumar of Pehowa, Kurukshetra. During the probe, the accused had already refunded ₹1.45 lakh to the complainant earlier, while police recovered another ₹1.66 lakh from their possession.

Police Action

A case was registered at Pundri Police Station, and further legal proceedings are underway. Police reiterated their commitment to take strict action against fraudsters duping people on the pretext of sending them abroad.
