Kaithal, December 16:
Acting on the directions of Haryana Director General of Police O.P. Singh and under the effective supervision of SP Upasana, the Special Detective Unit (SDU), Kaithal, achieved a significant breakthrough during Operation Hotspot Domination, aimed at curbing crime and organized criminal activities.
During a special checking operation, the SDU arrested two accused persons and recovered three illegal country-made pistols (.315 bore) along with seven live cartridges, thereby preventing a potentially serious criminal incident.

Action Taken on Secret Information
SP Upasana informed that the operation was conducted under the leadership of SDU In-charge Inspector Ramesh Chand, with a team headed by ASI Tarseem Kumar. On Monday evening, the police team was patrolling in the Pyoda village area when they received reliable secret information.
According to the input, two young men with criminal backgrounds were standing near Titaram Bus Stand on a new black Splendor motorcycle without a number plate. They were allegedly carrying three to four illegal pistols and a large quantity of live ammunition and were planning to travel towards Pehowa via NH-152.
Swift Naka-Bandi and Arrest
Considering the seriousness of the information, the alert police team immediately set up a naka-bandi (road blockade) on the road leading from Titaram Power Board towards NH-152 and began checking vehicles. Shortly afterward, the two suspects arrived on a motorcycle and were apprehended by the police.
The accused were identified as Mandeep (28), a resident of Rahra village, Karnal district, and Tilak Raj alias Tilka (20), a resident of Panghala village, Karnal district.

Recovery of Illegal Weapons
During the search, police recovered three illegal country-made pistols of .315 bore and seven live cartridges from the possession of the accused. A case was registered at Police Station Titaram, and both accused were formally arrested by HC Devender, who reached the spot.
Plan to Commit Firing Incident Foiled
SP Upasana disclosed that accused Mandeep has an ongoing rivalry with individuals named Sachin and Amit in his village. The accused had received information that Sachin and his associates were present in the Kaithal area. Both accused had allegedly come to Kaithal with the intention of opening fire on their rivals.
Due to the timely action of the Special Detective Unit, a serious criminal incident was averted, and both accused were arrested before they could execute their plan.
Criminal History of the Accused
Police revealed that accused Mandeep has a long criminal history, with around 18 serious cases registered against him across Karnal, Jind, and Hisar districts, including cases under the Arms Act, attempt to murder, snatching, robbery, dacoity, assault, and liquor smuggling.
