Guhla Cheeka: Karam Chand Garg has been elected as the President of the Cheeka Grain Market Arhtiya Association by defeating his opponent, Ruldu Ram, by 49 votes. The elections were held today at Agarwal Dharamshala, Cheeka.
According to the information received, a total of 328 votes were cast, out of which one vote was declared invalid. Karam Chand secured 188 votes, while Ruldu Ram received 139 votes, resulting in Garg’s victory.
Election Committee member Kulwant Rai stated that the newly elected president, Karam Chand Garg, has been given the authority to form the rest of the executive committee. He is free to select other office bearers and members at his discretion. The elections were conducted peacefully under tight police security.
Ruldu Ram Faces Third Consecutive Defeat Due to Caste Factor
The caste factor played a significant role in the elections, which led to the victory of Karam Chand Garg from the Mahajan community, while Ruldu Ram from the Prajapat community faced his third consecutive defeat. It is noteworthy that Ruldu Ram had contested for the President’s position twice before but was unable to secure a win, as the Mahajan community-backed candidates have consistently emerged victorious in the market association elections.
