Madhu and Sandeep Shine in Nutrition Diet Contest
Promoting Nutrition Awareness in Tarawali Village
A Nutrition Diet Contest was organized today at the Anganwadi Centre of Tarawali village, Guhla subdivision, aimed at spreading awareness about nutrition for children and encouraging creativity among mothers. The competition focused on preparing dishes based on local nutritious food items.
Objectives of the Contest
The event had three main goals:
- To spread awareness about the importance of balanced nutrition.
- To demonstrate easy ways of preparing healthy meals for children, pregnant women, and mothers.
- To encourage culinary skills and innovation among women in the community.
Winners of the Competition
The contest saw enthusiastic participation from women in the village. The results were as follows:
- First Place: Madhu and Sandeep
- Second Place: Sukhi and Simran
- Third Place: Simran and Paramjit Kaur
The winners were felicitated with gifts by Anganwadi workers Sukhwinder Kaur and Paramjit.
Guests and Community Support
The event was graced by Gurdeep Urlana, Shishpal Sair, and Sarpanch Amrik Singh as chief guests. They praised the efforts of participants and highlighted the importance of such community-based initiatives.
Speaking on the occasion, Gurdeep Urlana said, “Such contests not only promote nutrition education in society but also give women an opportunity to showcase their creativity. Mothers can learn new ways of preparing healthy meals and make their families’ diet more nutritious.”

The event also saw the presence of community members including Sito Devi, Baby Devi, Paramjit Kaur, Shishpal Sair, Gurdeep Urlana, Sarpanch Amrik Singh, and Sukhwinder Kaur, along with many other women from the village.
The contest concluded with a message that healthy food habits can play a crucial role in ensuring better health for children and families.
