Quick Police Action in Hospital Theft Case

In a swift move, the Cheeka police in Kaithal have arrested a man involved in a theft from a local hospital and de-addiction center. The arrest was made shortly after the crime was reported, showcasing effective law enforcement and prompt investigation.

Theft Reported from Nirvan Hospital and Rehab Center

According to the police, the incident took place at Nirvan Hospital and Nasha Mukti Kendra (De-addiction Center) located in Cheeka. On the night of April 28, an unknown person allegedly entered the hospital premises by climbing over the boundary wall.

The person stole medicines and a mobile phone from the facility. Aman, an attendant at the center, reported the incident the next morning. Based on his complaint, a formal case was registered at Cheeka Police Station.

Investigation Led by SHO Balbir Singh

Station House Officer (SHO) Inspector Balbir Singh led the investigation, with Head Constable Sumeet Kumar heading the search operation. Within a short time, they traced the suspect to Bhagal village.

The accused was identified as Ankit, a resident of Bhagal. He was apprehended and brought in for questioning. Upon interrogation, Ankit confessed to the theft.

Medicines Recovered from the Accused

During the investigation, police recovered 40 strips of stolen medicines from Ankit’s possession. These medicines were allegedly taken from the hospital the same night. Police are still trying to determine whether he intended to sell them or use them.

The stolen mobile phone is also expected to be recovered soon, as police continue questioning.

Accused Sent to Judicial Custody

After completing the initial investigation, the accused was presented in court on Thursday. As per the court’s orders, Ankit has been sent to judicial custody.

This quick response by the police has brought a sense of relief to the hospital staff and patients who were disturbed by the theft.

Rising Concern Over Drug-Related Thefts

Locals and hospital authorities are now expressing concern over increasing incidents of drug-related thefts. In many cases, stolen medicines find their way to the illegal market, posing risks to public health and safety.

The fact that a de-addiction center was targeted has raised further alarm, highlighting the need for tighter security and awareness.

Police Urge Public to Stay Alert

Police officials have urged the public to remain vigilant. They advise hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies to install proper surveillance systems and secure their medicine storage areas.

They also requested that residents report any suspicious activity around medical facilities immediately to prevent similar incidents.

Conclusion: Vigilance and Law Enforcement Key to Safety

The arrest of the accused in such a short time has demonstrated the efficiency of Cheeka Police. Their swift action ensured that the stolen medicines did not end up in the wrong hands.

This case is a reminder that security, both physical and digital, must be a top priority for institutions handling sensitive items like prescription drugs. Collaboration between the public and police can make a big difference in keeping the community safe.
