Anger Against Government’s Unkept Promises
Cheeka, August 20 – The Municipal Employees Union, Haryana, affiliated with the Sarv Karamchari Sangh, held a massive protest in Cheeka on Tuesday against the state government’s alleged betrayal of promises. Employees from the municipality and fire brigade joined the demonstration, raising strong slogans against the government.
The protest was chaired by Union Block Vice President Talwinder Singh, while senior leader Chinto Devi conducted the stage. Sarv Karamchari Sangh Block Committee President Pawan Sharma was also present.
Previous Assurances Broken
Speaking on the occasion, Talwinder Singh reminded that on June 29, the union had staged a state-level protest outside Urban Local Bodies Minister Vipul Goel’s residence in Faridabad. At that time, the minister had assured that a meeting would be convened within a week to resolve the employees’ demands. However, no such meeting has taken place, nor has any demand been fulfilled so far.
Warning of Statewide Agitation
Frustrated with the government’s inaction, the employees warned that if their demands are not met soon, they will intensify their agitation. The union announced plans to hold protests outside MLAs’ residences across Haryana on September 10 and 11, where memorandums will be submitted.
Call for Justice and Women’s Safety
Senior leader Chinto Devi also raised concerns over women’s safety in the state, demanding justice for Manisha from Loharu and strict punishment for the culprits.
Widespread Participation
The demonstration saw active participation from Union President Prithviram, Sagar Kumar, Pinki, Kusum, Palo, Gurmeet, Sudesh, and many other employees.
