First Aid Training for NSS Girl Volunteers at Cheeka

Cheeka, September 25, 2025 โ€“ โ€œThe person present at the accident site plays a crucial role in saving the life of the injured. With timely First Aid, their tears can turn into smiles,โ€ said Prof. Dr. Raja Singh Jhinjar, Master Trainer and Gold Medalist of St. John Ambulance International Association (India branch, Haryana). He was addressing NSS volunteers during a First Aid training session at Government Girls College, Cheeka.

Mission to Save Lives Through Training

Dr. Jhinjar, under the guidance of Dr. Rajpal Punia, National President of St. John Ambulance International Association India, and as part of the National Paramount Mission 2030, is providing life-saving training to students, teachers, drivers, conductors, and the general public.

He emphasized that over 1.5 lakh lives are lost annually in India due to the lack of timely First Aid before reaching hospitals. Quick and proper response can save countless lives in accidents and medical emergencies.

Practical Lessons in First Aid and CPR

During the training, Dr. Jhinjar covered:

  • Fractures, wounds, and bleeding management
  • Handling unconsciousness, shock, and nosebleeds
  • Electric shocks and burn injuries
  • Heart attacks, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure

He highlighted that in severe cases like a heart attack, timely CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) can give a new lease of life.

Students actively practiced CPR on human dummies, learning hands-on techniques. NSS volunteers Sunita, Kajal, and Muskan participated enthusiastically, asking questions and performing live demonstrations.

Importance of Life-Saving Knowledge

Principal Dr. Lucky Sharma called the training โ€œa vital practical skill for todayโ€™s scientific era,โ€ stressing that such knowledge is invaluable for students and society.

NSS Program Officer Dr. Meenakshi praised Dr. Jhinjarโ€™s teaching methods, stating, โ€œSuch skilled trainers are a blessing. Their guidance helps us safeguard not just our lives but also others.โ€ She further noted that CPR training is the biggest necessity of todayโ€™s time.

Faculty members including Dr. Preeti, Dr. Kawaljeet, Dr. Surbhi, and Dr. Shalu Garg were also present during the program.
