Major Crime Breakthroughs in Kaithal: Multiple Arrests and Recoveries by Police

Kaithal, May 21 – The Kaithal police have made significant progress in cracking several major criminal cases, ranging from a blind murder mystery to vehicle theft, illegal arms possession, liquor smuggling, and robbery. Acting on the directives of SP Aastha Modi, various police teams executed swift actions to bring justice and strengthen public safety.

Blind Murder Solved: Two Arrested

In a breakthrough, the CIA-1 police team solved the blind murder case of Jaipal, a resident of Sajuma village. Jaipal was found dead on May 15 with head and facial injuries in an empty plot near the bus stand. Following a complaint by his cousin Karmchand, the Kalayat police registered a case. Investigations led to the arrest of two villagers, Ramesh alias Bola and Balkar alias Katari.

During interrogation, the accused confessed to killing Jaipal due to an old enmity. A month earlier, Jaipal had physically assaulted Balkar over a dispute, and similarly, he had a conflict with Ramesh about 20 days ago. Both men attacked him with bricks while he was intoxicated and lying in the plot. A two-day police remand was obtained for further questioning.

Bike Theft Gang Busted: Six Bikes Recovered

Mahmudpur police, under ASI Rajesh Kumar and HC Mangal Singh, arrested two bike thieves—Sahil Preet of Samana, Punjab and Mandeep Singh of Shahzadpur, Patiala. The arrests were made following a complaint about stolen bikes from the Maysar temple area on April 6.

Upon questioning, the suspects led police to six stolen bikes, including one from Cheeka and four others from different parts of Punjab. Both have been sent to judicial custody.

Illegal Firearm Seized

In a separate operation, the Special Detective Unit arrested Saurabh alias Star from Siwan for possessing an illegal country-made pistol (.315 bore). He was caught waiting near Takia Wala Kuan with the weapon. A case has been filed under the Arms Act, and the accused is now in judicial custody.

Liquor Smuggler Nabbed

The City Police, led by SI Baljeet Singh, seized 30 bottles of illegal liquor from a resident of Mata Gate, Satpal. Based on a tip-off, the team raided the Maharishi Kashyap Road and arrested the suspect. A case has been registered and investigations are ongoing.

Petrol Pump Robbery Case: Another Accused Caught

In a robbery case dating back to December 2024, where a petrol pump employee was robbed of cash and a mobile phone, the Special Detective Unit arrested Salman Khan of Balbehra. Earlier, two other accused in the same case had already been arrested. The incident occurred at a petrol pump in Naya Gaon where three masked youths committed the crime. Salman will be produced in court for further interrogation.
