Ignoring Traffic Rules Can Be Fatal: Puneet Dhiman

In an effort to create greater awareness about road safety, DAV College, Cheeka, organized an extensive lecture. The event was held under the joint guidance of the NSS Unit and the Political Science Council. Special guests from Ashok Leyland Driver Training Institute, Kaithal, including Puneet Dhiman, Rammehar Sharma, and Jarnail Singh, participated as key speakers.

Providing insight about the program, Professor Neeraj Singh shared that a special session on road safety was planned for the students. Experts from Ashok Leyland explained vital aspects of traffic regulations and the importance of safe driving. The initiative aimed to sensitize young people towards traffic discipline and educate them about necessary measures to avoid accidents.

Key Focus on Helmet, Seatbelt, and Speed Limit

During his address, Puneet Dhiman stressed on the importance of basic yet life-saving habits. He emphasized the consistent use of helmets, proper fastening of seat belts, and strict adherence to speed limits. Additionally, he firmly advised against driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

He stated, “Most road accidents occur due to negligence and ignoring the rules. Small precautions can prevent big disasters.” His words were simple but carried a profound message that connected strongly with the young audience.

Importance of Road Safety Techniques

Moreover, the speakers took time to discuss essential vehicle safety technologies. They provided a clear explanation about how these technologies work to prevent serious injuries during accidents. In emergencies, they explained, the right steps could save not only the driverโ€™s life but also others on the road.

Transitioning smoothly between topics, the session also covered:

  • What to do during vehicle breakdowns.
  • How to respond in case of road accidents.
  • The value of regular vehicle maintenance.

These points helped the students understand that safe driving is not just about obeying rules but also about being technically prepared.

Learning About Traffic Signals and Laws

In addition to the safety talk, Jarnail Singh and Rammehar Sharma provided students with in-depth knowledge of traffic signals and laws. They explained:

  • The significance of each traffic light.
  • How to properly read road signs.
  • The meaning of lane markings and pedestrian zones.

Their session encouraged many students to rethink their casual attitude toward traffic signs. They showed that a small mistake on the road could lead to grave consequences not just for the driver, but for many innocent lives.

Interactive Q&A Session

Towards the conclusion of the program, an interactive question-and-answer session was held. Students actively participated and posed many practical queries about road safety and traffic rules.

The experts patiently addressed each question, making the session highly informative and engaging. They shared real-life examples to make the students understand the gravity of safe driving practices.

Taking the Oath for Safe Driving

The lecture ended on a solemn and inspiring note. All students and faculty members were invited to take a pledge to always drive safely, respect traffic rules, and encourage others to do the same.

This collective oath created a sense of unity among everyone present. It reminded them that road safety is not just a personal responsibility but a social duty.

Presence of College Staff and Students

The program witnessed the presence of a large number of students and college staff. Their active involvement and enthusiasm reflected the success of the event.

With everyone promising to spread awareness about road safety, the event fulfilled its purpose โ€” planting the seed of responsible driving habits in young minds.

Conclusion: Every Life Matters

Events like these highlight how crucial it is to obey traffic rules. Neglecting simple practices like wearing a helmet or fastening a seatbelt can cost lives. Through awareness and education, we can reduce accidents and save countless lives.

By following the teachings of experts like Puneet Dhiman and his team, youth can lead a movement toward safer roads. Every small effort counts. Every life matters.
