Punjab Cabinet Minister Lal Chand Kataruchakk Leads Flood Relief with AAP Workers

Pathankot, September 4, 2025 – Punjab Cabinet Minister Lal Chand Kataruchakk, along with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers, took charge of flood relief efforts in the Bamiyaal and Narot Jaimal Singh areas of Pathankot district, where heavy rains and rising Ravi river water severely affected local life, homes, shops, and roads.

During the inspection, Minister Kataruchakk, along with AAP leaders and volunteers, helped construct temporary embankments at Kohliyan Morh and other vulnerable points along the Ravi river, where floodwaters were causing soil erosion and threatening farmlands.

Flood-affected areas under threat

The overflowing Ravi river created a strong water flow near villages like Pamma and Kohliyan Adda, damaging agricultural land and posing a serious threat to nearby settlements. Even today, Kohliyan Morh remains one of the most critical danger points in the area.

AAP workers actively engaged in relief

AAP workers, in large numbers, joined the Cabinet Minister and took swift action by reinforcing weak spots with sandbags and temporary barriers. Despite heavy rainfall, the volunteers displayed strong dedication and courage while working in tough conditions.

Prominent leaders present included **Naresh Saini (District President BC Wing Pathankot), Pawan Kumar Fauji (Block President), Bhupinder Singh Kataruchakk, Khushbir Katal, Amandeep Sandhu (District AAP President), Ashwini Kumar Laddi, Lovely Manjiri, Subedar Kulwant Singh (Block President), Vijay Kataruchakk, Munish Gupta (Sarpanch Bamiyaal), Tarsem (Youth Leader Bhoah), Prem Kumar (Youth Leader), Tarun Tangosah, Pankaj Kataruchakk, Baljinder Singh Bunty (District President Farmers’ Wing), Surinder Sah (Block President), Baljinder Kaur (Block President), Sarpanch Asa Bano Rajni, Neelam Sarpanch, among others.

“A true leader stands with people in tough times” – Kataruchakk

Speaking on the occasion, Cabinet Minister Lal Chand Kataruchakk said, “A true leader is one who stands with the people in their time of crisis. The Aam Aadmi Party has been in the field from day one of these floods, ensuring no family or village is left alone. We will continue to provide all possible help until complete relief is achieved.”

The minister further praised the spirit of the youth who worked selflessly, even during heavy rains, to safeguard villages from further damage.
