Punjab Cabinet Minister Lal Chand Kataruchakk Surveys Flood-Affected Villages in Bhoa Constituency
Relief Distributed, Government Assures Full Support to Residents
Pathankot, August 28, 2025 –
Due to heavy rainfall in Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, water levels in dams exceeded capacity, causing rivers like Ravi, Ouj, and Jalalia to overflow in the Bhoa constituency. This led to significant losses for local residents. The first priority was to rescue those trapped in floodwaters, with full support from NDRF teams, Army, district administration, and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) volunteers.
Punjab Cabinet Minister Lal Chand Kataruchakk conducted an extensive survey of the flood-affected villages in Bhoa today.

Survey of Flood-Affected Areas
The minister first visited Ravi bridge at Kathlor to assess the water levels. He then inspected the affected areas near Kohlian Adda, where he provided financial assistance to some families and assured that the government would provide all possible help.
Reaching Villages Across the River
Minister Kataruchakk noted that several villages across the Ouj River were severely affected, disrupting normal life. Relief materials were delivered, and rescue operations were conducted to ensure people’s safety. He personally reached these villages with NDRF teams to distribute essential supplies and interact with residents, assuring them of government support.
Commitment of Punjab Government
The minister stated that the government is closely monitoring all affected regions, including road damage and other losses. Meetings with district officials and department authorities will be held to plan further actions. He emphasized that the Punjab government stands with its citizens in every difficult situation, providing immediate relief and long-term support.
