Kaithal Police Backs MANAS-1933 Helpline to Fight Drug Abuse
Kaithal, June 24 –
In the ongoing national fight against drug abuse, Kaithal Police has reinforced its commitment to eradicating narcotics from society. Supporting a major initiative by the central government, SP Aastha Modi urged citizens to actively use the newly launched MANAS National Narcotics Helpline – 1933, which operates 24/7 to combat drug-related issues across India.
The helpline is a multi-purpose resource launched to:
- Report drug trafficking and abuse anonymously
- Provide counseling and rehab support to addicts
- Enable fast police action through connected Anti-Narcotics Task Forces (ANTF)
This initiative is being seen as a historic move by the Government of India to make the country drug-free through coordinated efforts of law enforcement and public participation.
Confidential Reporting & Prompt Action
SP Modi emphasized that any individual can call 1933 and report illegal drug activities. The caller’s identity will remain confidential, ensuring a safe channel for whistleblowers. Once a tip is received, relevant ANTF teams will swiftly act against the culprits.
In addition to reporting, counseling and rehabilitation services are also offered through the helpline. The aim is to support not just enforcement but also recovery and reintegration of drug-affected individuals.
Digital Awareness Drive
Alongside the helpline, the government has launched a dedicated awareness platform:

This website offers posters, videos, brochures, and other materials aimed at educating the public about the dangers of drugs and promoting a united stand against addiction.
Community Participation Is Crucial
SP Aastha Modi called upon the people of Kaithal to:
- Share and promote the helpline number 1933
- Participate in ongoing awareness activities
- Encourage addicts to seek help without shame
She highlighted that during the Nasha Mukt Bharat Pakhwada (Drug-Free India Fortnight), Kaithal Police teams are visiting local communities to spread awareness and educate citizens on the harmful effects of drug abuse.
Building a Healthier Nation Together
“Government alone cannot win this battle,” said SP Modi. “It requires the active involvement of society—parents, teachers, youth, and communities. The MANAS helpline offers not only a chance to report crime but also to give a second chance to those trapped in addiction.”
Kaithal Police encourages every citizen to be part of this mission and help build a drug-free, healthy, and empowered India.
