Guhla Cheeka, June 3 – SDM Captain Parmesh Singh has issued firm instructions to the Municipal Secretary regarding the modification of Shaheed Udham Singh Chowk. In an official letter, he directed that the chowk be narrowed within 30 days. The letter also mandates the installation of traffic signals, proper lighting, and road speed signs at the site.
The decision came after multiple complaints highlighted the difficulties faced by the public due to the current width of the chowk. The SDM noted that the traffic congestion has worsened, posing serious risks to road safety and increasing the chances of accidents.
Further, SDM Singh appealed to local shopkeepers and street vendors to avoid placing goods or stalls around the chowk. He emphasized that such encroachments block the roads, create traffic jams, and inconvenience daily commuters. The SDM urged all vendors to keep their items within their shops to prevent obstruction and ensure smooth traffic flow.
This initiative aims to enhance public safety and reduce the chaos in one of the town’s busiest areas.
