Seminar Held to Strengthen Child Rights Awareness

Kaithal, April 17 – A seminar was organized at RKSD College’s auditorium on Thursday for investigation officers. It was held under the direction of SP Rajesh Kalia, who also guided all DSPs, station heads, and investigators present.

Legal Experts Share In-Depth Knowledge

District Child Marriage Prohibition Officer Sunita, JJ Board Member Arvind Khurania, and District Child Protection Officer Pradeep Kundu explained key child protection laws. These included:

  • The Prohibition of Child Marriage Act
  • The POCSO Act
  • The Juvenile Justice Act

Additionally, DDA Jaibhagwan Goyal discussed common investigation errors and explained the Arnesh Kumar guidelines.

Transitioning Towards Stronger Law Enforcement

These laws are critical for protecting children’s rights in India. The Child Marriage Act declares such marriages illegal. The POCSO Act aims to shield minors from sexual exploitation. Meanwhile, the Juvenile Justice Act supports children in conflict with the law or those needing care and protection.

Proper implementation of these acts helps create a safer and more secure environment for children.

Seminar Draws Strong Participation

The seminar witnessed active participation. Present were DSP Gurvinder Singh, DSP Sushil Prakash, all station in-charges, and several investigation officers. The event aimed to improve legal knowledge and ensure better law enforcement for children’s welfare.
