📰 Police Martyrs’ Day Honored in Kaithal: SP Upasana Pays Tribute to Brave Officers
Ceremony Held at Police Lines Kaithal
Kaithal, October 21 — On Tuesday morning, Police Martyrs’ Day was observed with pride and reverence at the Police Lines, Kaithal. The event began at 8 a.m. with a solemn tribute to the brave policemen and paramilitary soldiers who laid down their lives while defending the nation and combating crime.
During the ceremony, Superintendent of Police (SP) Upasana paid heartfelt homage to the martyrs and urged everyone to take inspiration from their courage and sacrifice in safeguarding India’s unity, integrity, and security.

Remembering the Heroes of Kaithal District
Police spokesperson informed that SP Upasana specially remembered five martyrs from Kaithal district —
- Ram Singh (Jajanpur, martyred in 1989)
- Kripal Singh (Harigarh Kingan, martyred in 1992)
- Gulzar Singh (Habri)
- Head Constable Vijay Kumar (martyred on August 13, 2020, due to COVID duty)
- SPO Dalbir Singh (Rajni Colony, Kaithal, martyred on June 5, 2021, due to COVID)
SP Upasana honored their families and assured them that the police department stands firmly with them in every situation. She said their sacrifice is not only an inspiration for the police force but for society as a whole.

Tribute at the Police Memorial
The event began with a moment of silence and a salute to the national flag, attended by hundreds of officers and personnel from across the district.
SP Upasana, DSP Birbhan, DSP Lalit Kumar, and other officers offered floral tributes and wreaths at the Police Memorial in Police Lines.
In her speech, SP Upasana said:
“Police Martyrs’ Day is not an ordinary day; it symbolizes the unmatched valor, dedication, and sacrifice of our brave police personnel.”
She recalled that on October 21, 1959, ten CRPF soldiers sacrificed their lives while defending India’s borders at Hot Springs, Leh-Ladakh, against Chinese intruders. Since then, the day has been commemorated nationwide as Police Martyrs’ Day.

10-Day Awareness and Community Programs Planned
SP Upasana emphasized that the valor of police and paramilitary forces continues to inspire future generations. She encouraged all officers to draw motivation from the martyrs and remain ever-ready to protect the nation’s internal and external security.
The police department has planned 10 days of awareness and community programs across Kaithal district to spread knowledge about the glorious history and sacrifices of police personnel.
