Police Tighten Grip on Traffic Offenders
Following the instructions of SP Aastha Modi, Kaithal police have intensified action against traffic rule violators. Under the leadership of Traffic SHO SI Rajkumar, dedicated teams have been deployed to identify and penalize offenders.
April witnessed a sharp increase in enforcement. As per the official spokesperson, a total of 3,813 challans were issued, including 86 Bullet bikes for creating panic through firecracker-like sounds using modified silencers.
₹24.56 Lakh Collected in Fines During April
The police collected ₹24,56,900 in fines in April alone. Out of the total cases, 76 vehicles were impounded for serious violations.
Category-wise breakdown of violations:
- No number plate: 263
- Line changing: 137
- Riding without helmet: 345
- Over-speeding: 454
- Wrong-side driving: 924
- Seat belt violation: 352
- Drunk driving: 21
- Using mobile while driving: 2
- Black film on windows: 3
- Underage driving: 10
- Blocking road with stubble-laden tractors: 4
These figures highlight the growing disregard for traffic norms, especially among youth and reckless drivers.
Bullet Bikes Under Special Watch
A significant focus was placed on Bullet motorcycles fitted with modified silencers. These bikes mimic the sound of firecrackers and create unnecessary panic, especially in residential areas.
As part of the operation, 86 such bikes were penalized during April. SP Modi stressed that such modifications not only cause noise pollution but also disturb public peace.
Awareness Drives Alongside Enforcement
While police action has been strict, efforts are also being made to educate the public. Awareness drives are being conducted to inform residents about traffic rules and the risks of ignoring them.
SP Aastha Modi emphasized that the goal is not merely to issue fines but to save lives. She stated:
“When people ignore traffic rules, they endanger not just themselves but others too—including their own families. We want to prevent loss of life, not punish unnecessarily.”
Safety Over Penalty: A Call to Citizens
The Superintendent urged people to be responsible citizens and follow traffic regulations.
She added, “Each accident avoided is a life saved. As citizens, we must think beyond penalties. Safety should be the priority—for ourselves and our families.”
Police Commitment Towards Road Safety
Kaithal Police have reiterated their dedication to reducing road accidents and fatalities. The approach combines strict enforcement with community awareness, aiming for long-term behavioral change among drivers.
The success of this mission depends not only on the police force but also on active public cooperation.
