On April 23, a key meeting was held in Kaithal, led by Meena Kumari, a member of the Haryana State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (HSCPCR), Panchkula. The meeting aimed to ensure that no child in the district is left out of school.
Officials from the Education Department, the Child Welfare Committee, and the District Child Protection Unit were present. Discussions focused on identifying and helping children who had dropped out of school.
Instructions for Action
During the meeting, Meena Kumari instructed the District Education Officer (DEO) and Block Education Officers (BEOs) to conduct a full survey. The goal: find children who have left school and get them re-enrolled.
She stressed the importance of collecting complete information about these students. After this, schools must ensure that these children are brought back into the classroom.
Remove Barriers to Admission
Many children do not have essential documents like Aadhaar cards or Family ID cards. Meena Kumari asked the Education Department to work with other officials to help these children. She said documents should be created quickly, following official rules, so that no child is held back from joining school.
The message was clear: every child must have access to education, no matter what their background is.
Schools Cannot Force Book Purchases
Another important point raised was about school materials. Meena Kumari reminded everyone that no school can force parents to buy books from private publishers. Schools must follow government guidelines and not burden families with extra expenses.
This rule protects parents from unnecessary costs and helps ensure fair access to learning for all.
A Joint Effort for Children
Present at the meeting were District Education Officer Ramdiya Gagat, District Child Protection Officer Pradeep Kumar, and Rana Bansal, Chairman of the Child Welfare Committee. Other members of the committee were also in attendance.
Together, they agreed to follow through on the instructions and work to bring every dropout back into school.

This meeting marked a step forward in the state’s effort to protect children’s right to education. It sent a powerful message: no child should be left behind. With the support of local departments and strong community backing, the goal of 100% school enrollment is within reach.
