Sports play a crucial role in every individual’s life, and a child’s overall development heavily depends on physical activities. Highlighting the importance of sports, Somveer DPE addressed students at Government School, Harigarh Kingan. He emphasized that sports are essential for life as they enhance physical and mental well-being while reducing stress. He also advised students that learning with discipline is the key to a successful academic life.

Professor Raja Singh Jhinjer, spokesperson for St. John Ambulance and a lifelong member of the Indian Red Cross Society, stated that sports instill team spirit, promote effective time management, help in setting life goals, and develop the ability to accept victories and defeats gracefully. He stressed that sports play a significant role in keeping youth away from substance abuse and negative influences. Jhinjer further added that the primary objectives of the Indian Red Cross Society—health, service, and friendship—are strongly supported by sports. To reinforce this, Junior Red Cross Groups and Brigades have been established in state schools to strengthen students both physically and mentally.

On this occasion, the school principal, Dr. Veermati Sida, highlighted the vital role of sports in education, stating that learning cannot be effective without physical activities. Professors Chandrabhan Verma and Pritam Das remarked that sports are enjoyable and entertaining activities that enhance confidence and concentration. They stressed the importance of playing every game with a spirit of brotherhood and sportsmanship.

The event was attended by teachers and faculty members, including Gaurav Singla, Devendra, Jyoti Mehta, Satish Kumar, Kamlesh Devi, Meenakshi Mehta, Balkar Singh, Dharam Singh, and Dilbag Singh.
