Third Accused Nabbed by Dhanda Police in Attempted Murder Case

Kaithal, August 1:
The Dhanda Police, under the leadership of SHO SI Rekha and ASI Suresh Kumar, have arrested a third accused in connection with a brutal attack on a young man in the Dhanda area. The accused, Rajesh Kumar, is a resident of Pabnawa village.

Background of the Case

According to the police spokesperson, Ramkumar, a resident of Pammuwala village in Yamunanagar district, filed a complaint stating that on July 3, he and his friend Jaspreet were traveling by bus from Kurukshetra to Kaithal for personal work. Upon getting off the bus at Pabnawa village, they were approached by three unknown youths armed with sticks.

The attackers began assaulting Jaspreet with sticks, causing serious injuries to his head and body. After the attack, the assailants fled the scene, threatening to kill them. A case was immediately registered at Dhanda Police Station.

Two Accused Already in Custody

Earlier in the investigation, two suspects were already apprehended: Rohit Kumar from Tayotha village and Prince from Kamoda, Kurukshetra. It was revealed that about a year ago, there had been a dispute between Rohit and a youth named Harry from Pipli.

Mistaken Identity Led to the Assault

On the day of the incident, Rohit’s friends spotted Jaspreet at Kurukshetra bus stand and mistakenly believed him to be Harry. They informed Rohit, who allegedly instructed them to follow and teach the person a lesson. Acting on his instructions, Prince and two others followed Jaspreet and attacked him after he got off the bus at Pabnawa, mistaking him for Harry.

Third Accused Rajesh Arrested

Rajesh, the newly arrested suspect, was also involved in the assault. He was apprehended and is being interrogated. Police officials stated that Rajesh will be produced in court on Friday.
