Kaithal police have intensified their efforts against crime following SP Aastha Modi’s directives, making key arrests in three major cases—passport fraud, house theft, and vehicle robbery—across the district.

1. Two Held in Overseas Job Fraud Scams

The Economic Cell arrested two individuals in separate incidents of cheating people under the guise of sending them abroad. In the first case, Batta village resident Ravi Kumar reported that Gyan Singh, his wife, and another agent Mangu Singh took ₹13 lakh from him with promises of sending him to England. Instead, he was dumped in Russia, arrested there, and later deported to India. Mangu Singh from district Barnala, Punjab, has been arrested. Two others were already in custody.

In the second case, Dayora resident Jarnailo alleged that she paid ₹14 lakh to Gurpreet Singh (alias Gopi) of Bathinda and his associates for sending her daughter to Canada. Instead, her daughter was taken to Thailand, held for over a month, and sent back to India. Gurpreet has been arrested and is under investigation.

2. Fourth Accused Caught in House Theft Case

In a separate operation, the Anti-Vehicle Theft Staff arrested Mukesh from Lakhan Majra, Rohtak, in connection with a home burglary in Bhagal village, where ₹1 lakh cash and gold jewelry were stolen on April 30. Three others, including Kuldeep alias Kaku, were already held earlier. Police have recovered 15 grams of gold and 120 grams of silver jewelry from the accused.

3. Truck Thief Arrested with Stolen Vehicle

In a third incident, the Special Detective Unit apprehended Manoj Kumar of Karoda village with a stolen 12-tyre dumper truck near Faridabad Road. The truck, bearing fake registration, was confirmed stolen from Tonk district, Rajasthan, on May 25. Manoj confessed to being part of a larger gang involved in stealing and reselling vehicles across states.

All accused have been remanded to judicial custody, and investigations are ongoing.
