Cyber Crime Crackdown in Kaithal
Kaithal, September 20 – Acting under the directions of SP Aastha Modi, the district police have intensified their action against cyber fraudsters while also spreading awareness among the public.
In a recent development, the Cyber Crime Police Station team, including ASI Jasbir Singh, ASI Vinod, and ASI Pradeep Kumar, arrested two accused involved in a mobile tower installation fraud case.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Hansraj, a resident of village Dhanonda in Mahendragarh, and Sunil, a resident of village Behl in Bhiwani.
How the Fraud Took Place
According to the police spokesperson, Harish Kumar from Siwan lodged a complaint stating that on April 18, he came across an advertisement on YouTube regarding mobile tower installation. After applying online, he received a phone call on April 19 from a person introducing himself as Rajesh Mishra.
The caller claimed that Harish had applied for a tower installation and demanded a registration fee of ₹1,150. Trusting the caller, Harish transferred the money through a scanner.
Later, the fraudsters demanded additional amounts under various pretexts. In total, Harish was duped of ₹1,48,740. When the demands continued to rise, he realized it was a fraud and reported the matter to the Cyber Crime Police Station.

Previous Arrests in the Case
Police officials revealed that four accused had already been arrested earlier in connection with the same fraud. The two newly arrested individuals were also directly involved in the scam.
Both accused were presented before the court on Saturday and are currently being interrogated for further leads.
Police Advisory
The police once again urged citizens to remain alert and not to fall prey to fraudulent schemes related to mobile tower installations, lottery calls, or online investments. People were advised to verify any scheme with official sources before making payments.
