Women’s Health is Vital, Regular Check-Ups a Must: Surbhi Garg

Empowered Women, Strong Families

Kaithal, September 20 – Municipal Council Chairperson Surbhi Garg stressed that women’s health is crucial for the well-being of families and society. She was addressing the ‘Sashakt Nari, Swasth Parivar’ (Empowered Women, Healthy Families) program held at the District Civil Hospital, where she attended as the chief guest.

Garg said, “A strong woman not only takes care of her family but also contributes to its economic, social, and moral foundation. If women remain healthy, families will prosper and society will progress.”

PM Modi’s Initiatives for Women Empowerment

She highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched several schemes aimed at empowering and supporting women, such as:

  • Ujjwala Yojana – providing free LPG cylinders to free women from smoke-filled kitchens.
  • Drone Didi Program – creating livelihood opportunities for women in modern farming techniques.
  • Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao – promoting girl child education and protection.
  • Deen Dayal Lado Laxmi Yojana by CM Nayab Singh Saini – offering ₹2100 monthly financial support directly into eligible women’s bank accounts.

She urged women to be aware of their rights, make use of government schemes, and encourage their daughters to pursue education.

Regular Health Check-Ups Are Essential

The Chairperson advised women not to postpone medical issues. She said, “If illnesses are treated at an early stage, serious diseases can be prevented. Women should undergo regular health check-ups for a healthier future.”

Collective Voices for Women’s Awareness

BJP leader Shaili Munjal added that women must remain alert about their own health and encourage others. She noted that many women fall prey to serious illnesses due to neglect, which could be avoided through timely hospital visits.

Civil Surgeon Dr. Renu Chawla emphasized that an educated, self-reliant, and aware woman strengthens the family and gives the right values to children. She remarked, “An empowered woman is the foundation of a strong family.”

Medical Services and Awareness Activities

  • Hundreds of women underwent free health check-ups during the program.
  • The campaign is part of the Seva Pakhwada running from September 17 to October 2.
  • TB patients were provided nutrition kits and Ayushman cards were distributed.
  • Yoga expert H.S. Hooda from the Ayush Department demonstrated yoga practices to promote holistic health.
  • Chairperson Surbhi Garg also planted saplings in the hospital premises, spreading the message of environmental protection.

Presence of Dignitaries

The event was attended by Joint Director Shilpi Patad, District Ayurvedic Officer Shakuntla Dahiya, Program Officer Gurjeet Kaur, PMO Dr. Dinesh Kansal, along with doctors, health officials, hospital staff, and hundreds of women from across the district.
