Kaithal, March 25 – Cyber Crime Police have arrested Sonu, a resident of Dahola village in Jind district, for blackmailing a woman and taking lakhs of rupees from her by threatening to leak her video. The arrest was made under the supervision of PSI Shubhranshu and SI Surender Singh.

According to the police, the woman met Sonu on Snapchat, and they later started talking on Instagram and Facebook. Sonu tricked her into making a video call, recorded an inappropriate video, and then began demanding money from her. Out of fear, she started paying him.

Later, another man, Ajay, also sent her obscene videos on WhatsApp and started blackmailing her for money. Both men together took ₹14.40 lakh from her and kept threatening to leak the video even after she had paid them.

The police had already arrested Ajay Kumar from Satrana village in Patiala, Punjab, and sent him to jail. On Tuesday, the court granted the police a two-day remand of Sonu for further investigation.
