Cheeka Marathon 2025: Running Against Drugs

The Cheeka Marathon 2025 was successfully organized at DAV College, Cheeka, on March 30, 2025, in memory of the late Olympian Sagardeep Kaur. The event was hosted by the Olympian Sagardeep Kaur Sports & Educational Trust and sponsored by KBD Group, Mohali.

More than 2,000 runners participated in the marathon, including three athletes from East Africa. Mr. Rajesh Kalia, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Kaithal, flagged off the 10 km men’s and women’s races, while Olympian Harvinder Singh inaugurated the 3 km Master Run. To inspire the youth in the fight against drug abuse, Mr. Rajesh Kalia himself participated in the Master Run.

Mr. Ramesh Goyal, Managing Director of KBD Group, graced the award distribution ceremony, where prizes worth over ₹5 lakh were presented to the winners. Several dignitaries from the city were also present at the event.

Dr. Satnam Coach and the OSK team expressed gratitude to all supporters for making the marathon a grand success. The primary objective of this event was to promote sports among the youth of Guhla-Cheeka, Kaithal (Haryana), and raise awareness against drug abuse.
