Devender Hans Promises Support for Health Access at Mahavir Dal
Cheeka, April 14 – On Monday, Congress MLA Devender Hans visited the Mahavir Dal Hospital in Cheeka. He met Somprakash Jindal, who was recently elected as the new president of the hospital committee. Hans congratulated him on his win and appreciated the team’s continued efforts to provide care to the poor.
During the visit, Hans asked for updates about the services offered at the hospital. Jindal explained how the hospital treats hundreds of people daily at very low costs. He also placed a key demand before the MLA—the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Card scheme at the hospital.
Poor Patients Need Ayushman Card at Cheeka: Jindal
Somprakash Jindal said that many patients in Cheeka belong to poor families. These families cannot afford private healthcare. If the Ayushman Bharat Card is approved at Mahavir Dal, patients can receive free operations and major treatments locally.
Jindal said that today, poor patients often travel long distances for such treatment. That costs them time and money. If the scheme starts here, the burden on these families would be reduced.
He added, “We need government support to make this possible. It will change lives in Cheeka and nearby villages.”
Modern Services Started, Then Stopped Due to Challenges
Jindal also shared an update on the hospital’s facilities during his previous term from 2021 to 2023. He said the committee worked hard to launch modern medical services like:
- ICU
- Dialysis units
- Ultrasound tests
These services helped hundreds of patients at low cost. But due to staffing and funding issues, many of these services are now not active.
Jindal said, “We had great community support. But we need doctors and financial help to continue.” He hopes the new team can restart all services soon.
MLA Hans Assures Full Support from His Side
MLA Devender Hans listened to the concerns seriously. He praised the Mahavir Dal committee’s work. He called the hospital a lifeline for the local people.
Hans said, “I will speak with the Chief Minister soon and ask for the Ayushman Card to be started here. The people of Cheeka deserve this facility.”
He added that many government hospitals are already part of the scheme. Private charitable hospitals like Mahavir Dal should also be included, especially when they serve the poor.
Interference in Hospital Elections Criticized
Hans also referred to an issue that occurred during the hospital’s recent elections. He said he heard that a local political leader tried to interfere in the committee’s process.
Hans praised the Mahavir Dal team for resisting the pressure. He said, “Institutions like this must remain free from politics. The people trust this committee because it works with honesty.”
The MLA said he would continue to support the team to make the hospital stronger and more capable of handling bigger responsibilities.
Local Leaders Present During the Visit
Several prominent citizens and committee members joined the visit. Among them were:
- Poorn Saini (Siwan)
- Narendra Sharma
- Narayan Dutt Sharma
- Vipin Sharma
- Praveen
- Naresh Mittal
- Vinod Kumar
All of them welcomed the MLA and appreciated his assurance to support the hospital in its future goals.
Health Support Must Reach the Poor: Public Demand Grows
The demand to include Mahavir Dal Hospital under the Ayushman Bharat scheme is gaining local support. People say that private hospitals are often too expensive, and public hospitals are too far.
Citizens want the state government to act fast. The public feels that people in small towns should not be left behind. Access to health care is a right, not a luxury.
A local resident said, “Why should we go 50 or 100 kilometers for a small surgery when this hospital is ready to help?”
Mahavir Dal’s Legacy and Public Trust
Mahavir Dal Hospital is run by a voluntary committee. It has built a strong image of serving the people without profit. Most of its funding comes from donations and community efforts.
Even with limited resources, the hospital has helped thousands of patients over the years. Residents say they trust Mahavir Dal more than many private hospitals.
Still, the hospital needs government support to scale up. The Ayushman scheme is seen as the key to its growth and survival.
Final Word: Will the Government Act?
MLA Hans’s promise has raised hopes among the people of Cheeka. If the Chief Minister agrees, this move could offer free, quality treatment to poor patients.
It would also strengthen public-private partnerships in healthcare. For many families, it could mean less travel, lower costs, and faster recovery.
Hans’s words brought hope. Now, all eyes are on the government. Will they take action and turn this promise into reality?
