Crackdown on Drug Trade Continues in Kaithal
Kaithal, April 16 — The local police are intensifying efforts to eliminate drug abuse. As part of this mission, action against drug peddlers is ongoing. Under the direction of SP Rajesh Kalia, awareness campaigns are running across the district. Simultaneously, strict action is being taken against those involved in drug trafficking.
Two Men Arrested with Drugs in Pundri
In a recent operation, the Anti-Narcotic Cell arrested two men. They were caught with 499 grams of poppy husk. The arrest took place in the Pundri region. A vehicle was also seized during the action. The accused were caught near Brahmanand Chowk during a night patrol.
Swift Action by Police Team
Sub-Inspector Singh Raj led the operation. He was assisted by ASI Praveen Kumar. The police received a tip from an informant. The source revealed that two suspects would arrive near the Pundri bus stand. They were allegedly planning to sell the narcotic substance from a Swift Dzire car.
Arrest Made Near Juice Shop
The team quickly reached the bus stand. They spotted two young men getting out of a parked car near a juice shop. One of them was holding a black plastic bag. The police acted fast. Both suspects were taken into custody with the bag and vehicle.
Poppy Husk Found in Plastic Bag
A legal search was conducted in the presence of Naib Tehsildar Anshul Arora. The plastic bag was found to contain 499 grams of poppy husk. The arrested individuals were identified as Jatin from Mohna village and Praveen Kumar alias Chanchal from Pundri.
Case Registered, More Questions Ahead
A case has been registered at Pundri police station. SI Joginder Singh arrested the duo on the spot. The suspects will appear in court on Wednesday. The police are currently interrogating them for further leads.
