Quick Police Action in Hospital Theft Case
In a swift move, the Cheeka police in Kaithal have arrested a man involved in a theft from a local hospital and de-addiction center. The arrest was made shortly after the crime was reported, showcasing effective law enforcement and prompt investigation.
Theft Reported from Nirvan Hospital and Rehab Center
According to the police, the incident took place at Nirvan Hospital and Nasha Mukti Kendra (De-addiction Center) located in Cheeka. On the night of April 28, an unknown person allegedly entered the hospital premises by climbing over the boundary wall.
The person stole medicines and a mobile phone from the facility. Aman, an attendant at the center, reported the incident the next morning. Based on his complaint, a formal case was registered at Cheeka Police Station.
Investigation Led by SHO Balbir Singh
Station House Officer (SHO) Inspector Balbir Singh led the investigation, with Head Constable Sumeet Kumar heading the search operation. Within a short time, they traced the suspect to Bhagal village.
The accused was identified as Ankit, a resident of Bhagal. He was apprehended and brought in for questioning. Upon interrogation, Ankit confessed to the theft.
Medicines Recovered from the Accused
During the investigation, police recovered 40 strips of stolen medicines from Ankit’s possession. These medicines were allegedly taken from the hospital the same night. Police are still trying to determine whether he intended to sell them or use them.
The stolen mobile phone is also expected to be recovered soon, as police continue questioning.
Accused Sent to Judicial Custody
After completing the initial investigation, the accused was presented in court on Thursday. As per the court’s orders, Ankit has been sent to judicial custody.
