Kaithal Police Nab Woman with Ganja in Anti-Drug Drive
Under the anti-drug mission led by SP Aastha Modi, Kaithal police have arrested a woman drug peddler. The accused was caught red-handed with nearly 3 kilograms of ganja in the city.
This incident reinforces the district police’s strong commitment to fighting the drug menace while also raising awareness about its dangers in society.
Ongoing War Against Drugs in Kaithal
Across Kaithal, police have been consistently acting against those involved in drug trade. While the administration is spreading awareness about drug-free living, its teams are tightening their grip on smugglers and peddlers.
This latest success comes from the CIA-1 police unit, which apprehended a woman carrying illegal narcotics in broad daylight.
Woman Caught With Ganja Near Jakhouli Adda
According to police spokespersons, the CIA-1 team was stationed near Jakhouli Adda in Kaithal. Acting on secret information from local sources, they learned about a suspicious woman coming toward the area on foot.
The team, under Sub-Inspector Jaswant Singh and led by ASI Praveen Kumar, acted swiftly. They had learned that Usha Rani, a resident of Ward No. 5 in Safidon, Jind district, had been supplying ganja in Kaithal for a long time.
She was reportedly carrying drugs with her on this particular day too.
Search Conducted in Presence of Tehsildar
The team began covert surveillance around the area. Soon, the woman described in the tip was seen approaching on foot from Jind Bypass toward Jakhouli Adda.
The team intercepted her and called the local Naib Tehsildar Joginder Dhankhar to the spot, ensuring all procedures were legally followed. A search was conducted under his supervision.
During the inspection, police found 2.9 kilograms of ganja flower and leaves inside a polythene bag in her possession.
Arrest and Case Filing
Following the discovery, a case was registered at the City Police Station. Lady ASI Sudesh Rani was called to the location and took the woman into custody.
She will be presented before the court on Thursday. Meanwhile, police officials have started questioning her for more leads, hoping to uncover the broader network behind this illegal activity.
Crackdown Under SP Aastha Modi’s Orders
Superintendent of Police Aastha Modi has been directing a full-scale crackdown on drug peddling in the region. Both awareness programs and strict enforcement are being implemented in parallel.
The aim is to educate citizens, especially the youth, about the risks of substance abuse while ensuring drug dealers face legal consequences.
This balanced approach has already yielded results across several cases in recent weeks.
Public Response and Police Appeal
The local community has responded positively to the policeโs action. Many residents say they feel safer knowing the authorities are serious about ending drug sales in their neighborhoods.
Kaithal police have urged the public to cooperate. They ask citizens to immediately report any suspicious individuals or activities. Such support, they say, is crucial for keeping the area clean from drugs.
Challenges and the Road Ahead
While this arrest marks progress, authorities acknowledge that drug peddling remains a challenge. Many such dealers operate in hiding, often using women or minors to carry narcotics.
Thus, police are enhancing their intelligence network and coordination with surrounding districts to dismantle entire supply chains, not just street-level peddlers.
Conclusion: Strong Message Against Drug Crimes
This arrest sends a clear message โ those involved in drug trafficking will not be spared. With every successful action, Kaithal moves a step closer to becoming a drug-free district.
Under clear leadership, firm strategy, and public cooperation, the police are determined to clean the streets and protect future generations from the grip of addiction.
