Kaithal, May 5 – The month of April brought significant results for the Kaithal Police in its ongoing fight against crime. With a firm grip on rising illegal activities, law enforcement acted swiftly to restore public confidence. From arrests in theft and robbery cases to seizures in narcotics and illegal weapons, the district police made notable progress.
With rising concern among the public over drug abuse and theft, this crackdown offered a sense of safety and assurance. The efforts of the district police not only reassured citizens but also sent a strong message to those involved in criminal activities.
82 Accused Arrested in 54 Cases
Throughout April, the police worked tirelessly to clamp down on illegal activities across Kaithal. A total of 54 cases related to drug trafficking, theft, robbery, burglary, and illegal weapons possession were registered. In these cases, 82 accused individuals were arrested.
These arrests played a key role in reducing fear among locals and restoring law and order in the region. Such rapid action reflects the police department’s strong will to keep the streets safe and drug-free.
₹15.71 Lakh Worth of Stolen Property Recovered
As part of the drive, special focus was given to property-related crimes. Police teams were deployed across sensitive areas, leading to recovery of ₹15.71 lakh worth of stolen property.
In total, 51 accused were held in connection with 26 separate theft-related cases. Their arrests brought justice to many victims and helped track down stolen goods.
Anti-Drug Operations Yield Major Seizures
Drugs remain a serious threat to the youth and overall peace of society. To fight this danger, the Kaithal Police launched a focused anti-narcotics campaign in April. Under the NDPS Act, eight cases were registered. As a result, 11 drug traffickers were arrested.
From them, police seized:
- 34.469 kg of poppy husk (chura post)
- 18.63 grams of heroin
- 7.134 kg of ganja (cannabis)
This operation significantly weakened local drug networks. The seizures sent a message that Kaithal will not tolerate drug activity.
Liquor Seized Under Excise Act
In efforts to control illegal liquor trade, police booked 19 cases under the Excise Act. Each case led to an arrest, with 19 accused taken into custody.
During searches, the following were recovered:
- 77.5 bottles of homemade liquor
- 150 bottles of country liquor
- 1187 litres of lahan (liquor base)
This success reduced the availability of illegal liquor in the region. It also curbed the spread of unhealthy and dangerous alcohol.
Arms Seizure: One Held with Illegal Weapon
One case under the Arms Act led to the arrest of a suspect who was found in possession of a country-made pistol and one live cartridge.
Such illegal weapons pose a serious threat to peace. By recovering them, the police have prevented possible violent acts in the area.
Arrest of Bail Jumpers and Proclaimed Offenders
Law enforcement also focused on those who had evaded justice. In April, police successfully arrested:
- 11 bail jumpers, and
- 7 proclaimed offenders (P.O.)
These arrests show the department’s intent to bring fugitives back into the legal system. No one is above the law, and these actions prove that crime will not go unpunished.
Awareness Drives on Drugs and Cybercrime
Besides arrests, Kaithal Police took proactive steps to spread awareness. Educational campaigns were launched to educate youth and citizens on the harmful effects of drugs.
Moreover, sessions were conducted on cybercrime – an emerging threat that targets many unaware users online. These steps aimed at creating an alert and informed public.
