Cyber Fraud Crackdown: One Arrested for โ‚น50,000 Scam

In a recent cyber fraud case, Kaithal police arrested a man who lured a victim using a fake reward point message. The accused, Yuvraj Beniwal from Ghavd village in Hisar, was caught following an investigation led by ASI Vinod Kumar from the cyber crime unit.

The complainant, Vivek from Kaithal, reported receiving a message on December 31. It claimed he had 13,679 SBI reward points, with a link to redeem them. Clicking the link opened a fake SBI website. He entered his ID, password, and OTP. Later, a message asked for his PAN and fatherโ€™s name. After submitting further details, โ‚น50,000 was deducted from his account.

Realizing the fraud, he reported it to the cyber police. A case was registered. The police recovered โ‚น7,000 from the accused and are continuing legal proceedings.

Tractor Battery Theft Solved: Four Accused Held

In another major breakthrough, the Anti-Vehicle Theft Staff nabbed four suspects, including a woman, for a series of thefts in Kaithal and Hisar. The team recovered stolen wheat sacks, gas cylinders, tractor batteries, and more.

Surender from Jakhauli village had reported theft of his loaderโ€™s and tractorโ€™s battery from Lakshmi Dharam Kanta on Titaram-Narwana Road. SP Aastha Modi ordered immediate action.

Under the leadership of SI Pradeep Kumar, officers Jaybhagwan, Subhkaran, Ashok Kumar, and Anil Kumar arrested Pradeep, Jaibir, Sandeep, and Babliโ€”all residents of Dharmtan Sahib, Jind. During questioning, they confessed to four theftsโ€”two in Kaithal and two in Hisar.

Recovered Items and Additional Thefts Uncovered

From the accused, police recovered 30 stolen wheat sacks, two welding gas cylinders, tractor and inverter batteries, and a vehicle used in the crimes.

Further investigation linked them to additional cases:

  • Sanghan Mandi (April): 45 wheat sacks stolen.
  • Hisar Marriage Palace (April 15): Utensils stolen.
  • Steel Cooler Factory in Hisar (April 21): Inverter batteries and other items stolen.

The court remanded all four into judicial custody. Police praised the swift coordination of the anti-vehicle theft unit.

Wheat Sack Theft From Ramthali Samadha: One Held

In a separate theft case, the police arrested Papanpreet from Majri for stealing wheat sacks from Ramthali Samadha Mandi. According to Gurvinder from Mega Majra, on April 29, unknown thieves were spotted loading wheat sacks into a Tata Ace vehicle.

Though an attempt was made to catch them, they escaped with five sacks. A case was filed at Guhla Police Station. Police recovered the vehicle used in the crime and further legal action is underway.

Illegal Arms Seized Near Kaithal-Karnal Road

The Special Detective Unit arrested Raju from Koth Kalan, Hisar, for possessing two illegal country-made pistols and one cartridge. Acting on a tip-off, SI Ramesh Kumar’s team reached 152D flyover near Mohna and caught the suspect waiting for a vehicle.

Raju had a backpack with illegal weapons. The team seized the arms and registered a case under the Arms Act at Pundri Police Station. He will be produced before court.

Minor Detained for Stolen Bike

In a juvenile crime case, a 16-year-old boy from Kaithal was caught with a stolen motorcycle. Aman from Lohchab reported his bike missing from Jawahar Park on May 3. The case was registered at City Police Station.

ASI Jasmer Singhโ€™s team from the Anti-Vehicle Theft Staff detained the minor and recovered the bike. Legal action is being taken per protocol for juveniles.

Police Strengthen Public Trust

Kaithal police, under the leadership of SP Aastha Modi, have strengthened public trust by solving multiple thefts and frauds. The efforts not only brought criminals to justice but also recovered public property.

Through timely action and teamwork, law enforcement demonstrated its commitment to community safety. Officers were appreciated for their swift coordination and sharp investigation.

Public Awareness: Stay Safe From Scams

Police urge citizens to remain alert. Cyber criminals often use emotional triggers or fake rewards to trick users. Avoid clicking unknown links or entering sensitive data online. Always verify the source.

In case of suspicious messages or transactions, report immediately to the cyber crime unit or dial helpline number 112.

Key Tips to Prevent Cyber Fraud:

  1. Donโ€™t share personal information on unverified websites.
  2. Avoid clicking links in random messages or emails.
  3. Use two-factor authentication on banking apps.
  4. Contact your bank directly if in doubt.
  5. Report incidents to cybercrime.gov.in.

Community Encouraged to Support Crime Prevention

Law enforcement emphasized that public cooperation is essential in curbing theft and fraud. They requested residents to be vigilant and report any unusual activity or unidentified people in their area.

Together, police and the public can build a safer environment.
