Multiple Arrests in Major Crime Crackdown in Kaithal

Kaithal, May 15 – In a significant law enforcement action, police teams from Kalayat, Cheeka, and City Police Stations arrested several suspects involved in theft, narcotics smuggling, ATM loot attempt, and illegal liquor trade. These efforts mark a strong step towards curbing crime, drug abuse, and unlawful activities in the district.

Theft at Dairy: Watchman Held Hostage

A major breakthrough came in the 2023 Kalayat dairy theft case where the watchman was held hostage. Police arrested Preetam, a resident of Shyam Nagar, Jind, in connection with the theft of transformer parts, oil, and an LED from the dairy. The accused was already in Jind jail in another case and was taken into custody on production warrant. Three other suspects were earlier arrested. The court has remanded Preetam to judicial custody.

Cheeka: Drug Peddlers Caught with Heroin

In Cheeka’s Kallar Majra village, local volunteers aiding a de-addiction team helped capture two suspects on a Punjab-registered bike. Police recovered 2.46 grams of heroin/smack from Lovepreet Singh, a resident of Chunangarh, Punjab. He and his accomplice Navdeep Kumar from Nyala Patra were handed over to SHO Cheeka, and later sent to judicial custody.

ATM Loot Attempt and Police Attack

In another high-profile case, police arrested Jabir from Shahpur, Saharanpur (UP) for trying to uproot an ATM and attacking police with gunfire in 2020. The CIA team had attempted to intercept the gang near Hind Cinema after receiving a tip-off. During the chase, the suspects fired at police while fleeing in a pickup truck. Jabir was recently located in Jaipur Central Jail and brought to Kaithal on a production warrant. Five others in the same case had already been arrested.

Illegal Liquor Seized in Kalayat

Police also caught Rattan Singh of Kalayat with 13 bottles of illegal country-made liquor. Acting on a tip-off, PSI Ravi Kumar’s team raided a shop on Sajuma Road and recovered the liquor. A case was registered and further action is ongoing.

Conclusion

This series of arrests by Kalayat, Cheeka, and City police reflect the administration’s active crackdown on criminal elements. The cases span from theft and narcotics to attempted murder and liquor smuggling, showing a determined effort to ensure public safety and law enforcement.
